It’s been quite some time since i had time to post photos on this blog. Wildlife Photography has always been of great interest to me ever since i began clicking the shutter. I always felt that nature always had a way of giving life to photos and that Wow factor which inanimate subjects lack.
This Photo was taken with a Canon Eos 7D using a 24-105mm f4 IS lens at the Singapore Zoological Gardens. I composed the photo in such a way that only a small portion of the entire snake was captured so as to reveal details in the scales as well as ensure that the head of the snake was sharp, taking up a large part of the photo as the central focus point so that people who recognize the animal. The dark green eerie glow to the snake was pure accident and i did not expect such an effect to occur. Thankfully, i felt that it added to the dynamics of the photograph adding the extra element of fear and mystery to this fascinating creatures. XD
BTW…. i love photographing snakes! lols…..
This photo of a white tiger was also taken at the Singapore Zoological Gardens. I was using the same camera body which was a Canon Eos 7D but instead using a Sigma 150-500mm f5 – 6.3 OS HSM lens for the much needed telephoto perspective as the animal was quite far from where i was to capture such a close up shot. Initially i was quite irritated as the tiger was facing away from the observation areas and thus i was not able to see the face of the animal. But fortunately, it turned to face us after waiting for a few minutes and i managed to compose and shoot it before it returned to it’s lazy position.
For nature photography, i believe 2 factors are quite essential to almost every photograph.
First: Close Up! Fill the frame!
Second: It’s all in the eyes, make sure when you focus, make sure the eyes are sharp to attain that perfect shot!
Thats it for now!
Fire Away! Shutter SPAMS!

Just for fun
